Fashion in a new perspective

Christian Louboutin

Viktor & Rolf
To support this statement, there are few images that I'd like to share.
Heading straight to the point, In the shoe industry, there are many variations of shoes that changes the concept of what shoes are.
Seen in the first picture above, is a 'Backwards Heels' designed by Leanie Van der Vyver and Renè Van den Berg. They have changed the whole concept of how shoes are supposed to be worn by having the normal back of the shoe to the front and the front to the back, as seen in the picture and from the title of the heels itself.
"I wanted to see where sexy ends and grotesque begins" was what Van der Vyver said, unsettled by the lengths human go to alter their bodies in search of perfection.
Same goes to the other two shoes shown in the above picture. A Peter Popps heels (2nd pic) and the famous Christian Laboutin ballet heels (3rd pic). These shoes were the outcome when daring designers break the rules of reality to form their own art.
Moving on to the clothing apparels, Viktor & Rolf is a reknowned fashion design brand who are at the same time, artists.
Their clothing designs are always seen to have more of an 'artistic feel' than a usual fashion apparel we often see.
Especially seen in the last two images shown above, Viktor & Rolf are known to exaggerate and change the silhoutte of women by giving them their very own unique shape. The structures and designs applied to each and every clothing article of theirs are of elaborate uniqueness and difference.
In my opinion, these whole concept of changing the way of fashion is rather interesting but at the same time, odd.
Interesting as it is of rare occurance to view such intelligence and creativity expressed by designers who bends the rules.
Odd because I feel that it won't be of any comfort to be fitted in such apparels! There must be a lot of pain and balance when wearing heels as the 'Backwarda Heels' or uncomfort if one were to wear a clothing article of Viktor & Rolf and such.
Nontheless, I do think that most of this fashion apparels are more of an artwork than something to be actually worn in a regular basis.
